When you have improved a guy?

have you noticed that in a relationship.. you buy them clothes, shoes, jewellery etc.. .all part of presents etc... but they end up so cocky that they leave you for someone else? my ex LOVED his "new" look, cause he used to dress so badly...and i work in fashion... then he started getting attention... and after 2.5 years left me for someone else... but who he is now isn't what he was!!! do guys keep their adopted look and realise its not them... just so the can keep scoring?

It sounds like he got compliments on his look and it boosted his ego. That happens with women as well. If you wore a certain look for so long, and then changed it and started getting more compliments, the same would happen.
