For the past couple of weeks I have been barely able to walk. When I put on my shoe my heel, around the part where the bone sticks out, starts to hurt. It is sharp pains every time I move my foot. I havn't banged my foot in any way but bruising is starting to come out. My ankle now feels spongey but dosn't really look swollen. Can any one tell me what this is?

if you bought new shoes recently, your feet just aren't used to them yet. Try getting Dr. Scholl's products for your shoes.
Reply:I have this problem too! I still havent quite figured it out, but I have concluded that in my case it has something to do with the bump on the back itself. Apparently some people get a "deformity" which cause your back heal bone to grow where it shouldnt be growing when it is stressed, put under pressure. The back of my heel sticks out weirdly, and there are periods of time like you said with intense pain! Is your heel bone bigger than normal? because then maybe the two things are probably linked
Reply:You may have something called bone spurs. If the pain is intense and short (like a stabbing pain) there are some stretches that will help the pain go away, like a calf stretch off the floor, if the pain continues, then you should buy some rubber insoles for your shoes.
If you exercise, or run a lot, this is most likey what causing your pain.
Reply:how do you know it isn't the front of your heel just feeling incredible and by comparison you only think the back of your heel is hurting?
Reply:Accumulated fluids. or maybe you hit it without noticing. Best advise is to see your doctor.

Plymouth Voyager Front Brakes - 14" Tires VS 15" Tires?
I have a 1996 Plymouth Voyager that has 14" Wheels on it,
and the transmission is slipping. I recently purchased ANOTHER 1996 Voyager, but this one is a Grand SE model,
and the wheels on it are 15"....
I just had the front brakes done on the old voyager (14" wheels)
and the voyager I just purchased needs front brakes (15" wheels)
Do you think I should be able to use the same Brake Shoes?
I want to take parts of my original voyager to make one good vehicle, and Im wondering if I will be able to exchange the front brake Pads. ?

!4" tires and 15" tires on the Dodges mean you also have two different rotor diameters. This means all of the brake parts are different on the two vehicles. The calipers, pads, and rotors are not interchangeable. If you contact a parts store and ask for brakes for either of these vans, the first thing they will ask you is the tire size, which is a way of asking you the rotor diameter without insulting you. they have either a 9 1/4 inch diameter rotor with the 14" wheels, or 11 1/4 with the 15 inch wheels. The pad part number is different. I think the difference in the Wagner part number is that the number is the same, but one will have an A after the number. The 15" wheel uses a caliper that has two bolts, while the 14" uses a caliper with one bolt, and the caliper slides onto a slide that is normally not removed from the steering knuckle. Furthermore, if you attempt to interchange the rotors, you will find the bolt pattern the same, but you will notice the rotor from the 15 inch will not clear the steering knuckle. Likewise, if you put the smaller rotor on the vehicle with the 15" tires, you will see it will slide right on. The problem then is that the caliper will be mounted so far out on the rotor, only half the brake pad will make contact. Hope this saves you a few strands of hair. Check with a parts store before you start loosening bolts. I think you will find all different part numbers, rotor thickness and diameter, etc. Good luck.
Reply:There's a very good chance the brake parts are the same. The larger wheels were probably standard on the large Grand model. You can call your local parts store and ask them to look up the part numbers for both vehicles and see if thery're the same. I think they will be.........
Reply:you should be able to ,the wheel size doesn't determine the brake pad size,they should interchange with no problems,i work on a lot of those but never really did notice any difference in the brake pad size on them,the wheels don't matter,good luck

Reply:Hmmmm, stop and think for a moment. Would tire sizes change your pad size? The answer is NO. Rotor size is the key, bud. It is perfectly fine to use a pad that was installed on another vehicle. Just examine the pad for heat cracking or glazing on the mating surface. If you have slight glazing, sandpaper should do the trick. To keep them from getting loud, use some anti-squeal on them. Just don't use the tires on the good van with 14". It will lead to false speedometer readings.

What is it that a lady determines by looking at what kind of shoes someone is wearing? I've always known that shoes are a really critical part of a wardrobe...but recently I heard also that employers often pay attention to footwear. What is everyone going around looking at the ground these days?

Why do the backs of my shoes keep breaking and stabbing my feet?
With my last few pairs of shoes, after about 6 months of owning them, it seems like there is some plastic part in the back of the shoe that keeps breaking, and then starts stabbing my foot. My mom said it was probably due to me not tying/untying them when I take them off/put them on, but with my latest pair I have been tying/untying them every time, and it's starting to break again. Any idea why this is happening? Any ideas how to prevent it?

I stopped at a dive bar after work and I noticed the barmaid was undressing?
me with her eyes. The only thing I was doing was sitting in the corner drinking warm beer that was past the expiration date while she was overserving the other patrons. How to attach rhinestones to rubber toe part of toddler's canvas shoes?
I do not want to use glue ( I would hate for the rhinestone to come off and become a choking hazard). I want a way to set the stones into the rubber by means of heating it, but do not know what type of tool to use. Someone said a "cool gun"...but do not know what that is.

Sounds like salt. I used to get that too when wearing my black boots/shoes in the snow in Vermont. As long as you keep polishing them, they should be fine. I had my boots for 6 years without any wear to the leather! I think the white is superficial and just looks bad more than anything.

The outside heel of my shoes are being worn down really badly, why?
The heel of my shoes are always being worn down really badly. It is not the entire heel, it is the outside part of the heel. So the shoe from the back looks like \ angled. The right side heel still touches the ground but the left side of the heal does not touch the ground anymore. Also I am always getting huge holes in my socks in the heel area. Even when I darn them I will eventually get holes in my heels
And this is for every pair of shoes I have, new or old eventually the left side of the heel breaks down...why?

It's because of the way your body is 'built' and hence, the way you walk. It's called pronation. I understand the uneven wear of the soles of your shoes. If I understand correctly, the 'inside' of each shoe heel wears, right? That generally means that you're rolling your ankles inward, or 'toward' each other. I wear out the outside corner of my right shoe; I'm what is known as a 'heel striker'. You may want to see a podiatrist; they specialize in feet and will be able to diagnose any abnormality. He/she may determine that orthotics may be helpful in correcting your gait...spend the extra money and have a physician 'make' custom orthotics for you...if they're needed.
Generally the over-the-counter shoe lifts don't really work as well as custom ones. The doctor will have you make a plaster mold of your foot/feet and will send the mold to a lab where they will make shoe inserts (orthotics) that you will wear in all of your shoes.
I admire you if you darn your socks...generally, darning 'invites' blisters!
Getting your body (skeletal structure) properly alligned should not only 'save' your shoes, but can improve your over-all physical health.

Reply:Because when you walk, you seem to step on that side of the heel like you wish to smash it and kill it xD try walking with pressure on all of the heel, to start with. Actually, you should aim for walking without slamming your heel to the ground so much. Don't your feet hurt from that kind of walk? Well if they don't then don't worry so much about it, there are TONS of people who walk like that and if it's a habit hard to change then don't beat yourself up about it.
Reply:If it is happening to every pair of shoes you own, chances are it is the way you walk.
Reply:usually that has to do with the way you walk or possibly your legs being different lengths... more work on the left side of ur body. see a podiatrist, or ne doctor abotu it and they could possibly tell you to get insoles or lifts in ur shoes to help it

chiropracters can also help you get a very substantial pair of insoles for shoes. they are made to transfer from one pair shoes to another. they are more expensive but they are very good.
Reply:you might have very low arches. I have flat feet and it causes my shoes to wear weird. Not to mention foot pain. What you can do is go to a podiatrist and have specially made orthotics. They are inserts that go in your shoes that are specially molded for your feet and will correct the problem of how your shoes wear because they will lift your arches causing the way you distribute the weight on your feet differently
Reply:You are walking on that spot...you should see a chiropractor, your hips may not be in line..they do make inserts for shoes just for that problem...my mom does the same thing.
Reply:You should get evaluated by a podiatrist. He/she can watch you walk and determine the reason why you wear out the outside of your left heel more than the right. There could be a lot of reasons and one of them could be that one leg is longer than the other. Meaning the left leg might be short and the right leg longer. So your body compensates by "trying" to make the L lef longer by turning the foot out which "lengthens" the L leg thereby you would wear out the L outside heel a lot more. We normally hit "rolled in" meaning we hit on the outside of our heel and then roll in, but you likely have some difference in length of both legs. Please get that checked out - you may need some custum orthotics to balance out the way you walk. Hope this helps!

Reply:Because when you walk, you seem to step on that side of the heel like you wish to smash it and kill it xD try walking with pressure on all of the heel, to start with. Actually, you should aim for walking without slamming your heel to the ground so much. Don't your feet hurt from that kind of walk? Well if they don't then don't worry so much about it, there are TONS of people who walk like that and if it's a habit hard to change then don't beat yourself up about it.

Reply:usually that has to do with the way you walk or possibly your legs being different lengths... more work on the left side of ur body. see a podiatrist, or ne doctor abotu it and they could possibly tell you to get insoles or lifts in ur shoes to help it

chiropracters can also help you get a very substantial pair of insoles for shoes. they are made to transfer from one pair shoes to another. they are more expensive but they are very good.
Reply:you might have very low arches. I have flat feet and it causes my shoes to wear weird. Not to mention foot pain. What you can do is go to a podiatrist and have specially made orthotics. They are inserts that go in your shoes that are specially molded for your feet and will correct the problem of how your shoes wear because they will lift your arches causing the way you distribute the weight on your feet differently
Reply:You are walking on that spot...you should see a chiropractor, your hips may not be in line..they do make inserts for shoes just for that problem...my mom does the same thing.
Reply:You should get evaluated by a podiatrist. He/she can watch you walk and determine the reason why you wear out the outside of your left heel more than the right. There could be a lot of reasons and one of them could be that one leg is longer than the other. Meaning the left leg might be short and the right leg longer. So your body compensates by "trying" to make the L lef longer by turning the foot out which "lengthens" the L leg thereby you would wear out the L outside heel a lot more. We normally hit "rolled in" meaning we hit on the outside of our heel and then roll in, but you likely have some difference in length of both legs. Please get that checked out - you may need some custum orthotics to balance out the way you walk. Hope this helps!
Reply:It's from the way you walk. Some people are "heel strikers" meaning that as they walk the heel of the foot always hit first. At the same time your foot is not landing flat, but is rolled somewhat to the outside.
So that's where the wear will show up: on the heel, outside edge.

Shoes giving me blisters....any tips?
I don't know if it is the way I walk, or the shoe I am buying, but it seems just about every pair of dress shoes that I buy rub horrible and painful blisters on various parts of my feet. Any tips could be helpful! Thanks

go to a shoe sotre and be fitted for at least one pari of shoes and then buy them like that in the future. Most of the time blisters are caused by poorly fitted and cheap shoes. Stay away from the discount stores.
If you go to Dillards, Bealls, Macy's etc. stores like those, they should have people who know how to fit you. Most people buy shoes too small.

1. I have seen some ballet shoes that have the toe part and the heel part, no middle, and then 2 elastic straps cross in the middle. I was wondering if there was a specific name for these and where could i get them?

ballet shoes with no middle arec,led split soles. they're available from several different makers, i like the ones by bloch. if you're referring to a pointe shoe like this, its made by leo's but don't be fooled. it has a full shank like any other pointe shoe,it just has an artificial split sole glued to the outside of the shoe. its just meant to look different, but, like any brand,it isn't the right fit for everyone.
all of these things are available from any dance shoppe

Toe pads are purchased separately for your pointe shoes. The only shoes I know of that have some padding built into them are the Bloch Sonatas, and having worn those, they are extremely hard to break in. However, they do support you better, so it's up to you.

I am a pack rat and am paring my belongings down. I am making a lot of progress, but have difficulty parting with my four shoe boxes of greeting cards and letters sent to me- should I keep these?

A special occasion card should be kept, like wedding, birth of a child, babies first birthday. But, keeping Christmas cards from everyone is ridiculous and takes up too much space. Get rid of those. I just keep an updated list in my draw as to who sent a card. I also keep any pictures that might have been sent with the cards.

And, there are several charities to which I send the card fronts where children make new cards from them to send to the disabled, cancer patients and nursing home residents. And, I use them myself to make Christmas cards every year for the residents in our local nursing home so that they get at least one card to brighten their holidays.

Why does my "brake" light and my "rear abs" light come on after a hard brake on my 1992 Ford Explorer?
Normal operation after start up; all warning lights operable, but off; and normal brake function. But when I press harder than normal on the brakes, the BRAKE light and the REAR ABS light come on, and they stay on until I turn off the car. This will happen even if I'm not traveling. With the car just sitting idling, if I press the brakes too far, the lights come on. Whenever these lights are on the pedal feels a little spongy towards the bottom of travel (but that could be my paranoia) and takes longer to stop. There is NO fluid leakage anywhere, and the MC is full to the perfect level. All brake parts (pads, rotors, drums, shoes, spring kits) are around 1,000 to 1,500 miles old, and I have always changed them myself (for 10 years on this vehicle) and new front hoses were installed 4 years ago. There are no other issues with the brakes other than this. 222,000 miles and counting. Help? Please?

How about that good old JSOP valve? If there is air in a line the piston inside the JSOP valve will move and make the brake light come on.
Otherwise, the ABS system is probably bad and you get both warning lights.
You can get a fluid leak inside one of the wheel cylinders and the fluid is still trapped behind the rubber boot and not leaking out just yet.
If you have a front brake hose that is swelling shut you'll notice a pull to one side when braking. There is a rubber hose that connects the rear end steel lines to the steel line that runs from the JSOP rearward.
My money is on the leak that hasn't shown itself in a rear wheel cylinder.

RBK 5K goalie pads: What's the bottom lace for?
I just bought new goalie pads today for the first time in about 8 years (RBK 5K's) and while I've figured out how to strap them on for the most part, there's a shoe lace attached to the bottom of the pad that I'm unsure of.
I'm assuming I'm supposed to re-lace my skates with the lace attached to the pads. Meaning, I would need to unlace and the re-lace my skates every game to remove my pads. Is this right?

I have dance legwarmser and they are blue and if they are totally strethced they reach just above the knee. Does the tighter part go over the shoe adn under the heel? I personally have "come face to face" with a ""spirit"" - a demon. I couldn't see it , but I knew it was there 100%, it wasn't nice at all , I'd just woken up when I sensed it literally above me. I told it "leave me alone" - umm i guess it didn't take to kindly to me trying to tell it what to do, my ears were suddenly filled with most horrid screaming (definitely not human) . So I corrected myself and told it to "leave me alone in Jesus name" instantly the screaming stopped and it went.

also i've never taken hallucinogenic drugs of any kind , and nor do I have "night terrors" .

Why does my leg shake when it's in a certain position?
Ok, i have always wondered why if my foot is placed in a certain position, about the top part of my shoes, where my toes are, placed lightly on the ground, my leg begins to shake uncontrollably. Uncontrollably in the sense that I can't stop it unless i move my foot out of the position? Depending on how high my foot is angled it shakes faster or slower. Why is this?

My pit bull is weak and in pain possibly constipated what could this be caused from?
weak, in pain whenever i try to pick him up or touch him he ate part of my shoes a few days ago he does'nt like to move just stands or lays down his butt is rounded underneath him he doesnt eat his pedigree dog food or drink much water could this be from something he may have ate? i gave him (pet) amoxicillin and tylenol for pain will take him to the vet tuesday if not monday please help i cant lose him. thanks!

It certainly sounds like a torsion or twisted bowel. He needs to see a vet.
Tylenol is not good for dogs. Aspirin is commonly used, but not tylenol.

Reply:I think you have an easy problem that can be fixed,your dog has something stuck like a piece of your shoe or a bone or something hard to digest,your dog won't die if you get him to the vet straight away as they'll flush his bowles and as if you don't get it done asap he'll get worse and you might regret it
Reply:It would be best to take him to the Vet in the morning as soon if not to an emergency clinic before. The fact that he is not drinking or eating and he is lethargic is a big concern. He may have some sort of blockage. I wouldn't advise medicating him yourself any more without the Vet's advice. Tylenol overdose can cause liver damage or liver failure and death. Weakness and pain, lethargy, not eating or drinking- these in combination are good reason to visit an emergency clinic and if you can't, then definitely good reason to go to a Vet first thing in the morning. Be sure to tell the Vet any meds you gave your dog and the exact amounts given, and how many times given. Hope your dog is better soon.

Second, there are emergency clinics and he obviously needs help. What are you going to do? Reply:first don't panic on the Tylenol if you've only given him 1 or 2. Yes, it's toxic but if the worst happens, it's not your fault in feeding him tylenol. It sounds like something he ate (ie, you can't find the missing parts of your shoes) and it's pluggin him up and as has been suggested, could be a twisted bowel. Vet asap for sure.

If I were you I would take him in as soon as they open up in the morning!! Bottom line: sizes 8 through 16/18 are plus size models. Sizes 0 through 6 are straights size. Figure out where you fit in and go from there.
Mind you, it's not all about measurements - you need to be photogenic, be well-propotioned, have great skin, hair and teeth, and have a look that is marketable. Unless an agent can sell you to her/his clients, it won't matter if you have the height or weight. On top of that, you need to have the money to get your career off the ground and you need to be professional enough to get to castings, bookings, etc. It's a crazy industry that is ultra competitive, so having a good head on your shoulders and nerves of steel along with mega-confidence won't hurt either.

If you lose a few pounds, your body measurements would be in between regular and plus sized, and in the modeling industry, that's not okay. You're either a regular or a plus sized.

Reply:As a semi professional model myself, I'm looking at your measurements and you do not even meet the standard of plus size model. You have to be much heavier. Never mind your age...look at your height and your weight. I'm 5'5" and I weigh 131 lbs.
The modeling industry doesn't look at measurements so much as they study the symmetry of the face, the overall look, how you carry yourself, outstanding features, and a need for your particular look. There is a lot of things that come along with it.

I've bought a new pair of shoes and the heels have no grip....?
They're peep toe with a stiletto heel but the sole of the heel is hard plastic and on most floors it's really slippery, is there any cure for this other than bringing them to the shoe menders to replace the grip part, as I don't live near any.

try using a cheese grater! sounds a bit weird but thats wat they use on models shoes before they go down the catwalk. be gentle though!

Reply:You can try some home grown recipes like scuffing the heel on a sidewalk, rubbing sandpaper on it etc. All those remedies will add more grip to the heel. However, you can also buy stick on gips at the store (like Target etc.) that will stick right to your heel and you can trim off the excess parts. These have worked great for me and they are relatively inexpensive :)
