Ballet shoes and pads??

1. I have seen some ballet shoes that have the toe part and the heel part, no middle, and then 2 elastic straps cross in the middle. I was wondering if there was a specific name for these and where could i get them?

2. where can i get the toe pads that have the wool built in?

Ballet shoes and pads??
wool is a seperate pad, used mainly for pointe shoes. if you mean an insert, the bloch sonata (pointe shoe, not flat) has it.

ballet shoes with no middle arec, led split soles. they're available from several different makers, i like the ones by bloch. if you're referring to a pointe shoe like this, its made by leo's but don't be fooled. it has a full shank like any other pointe shoe,it just has an artificial split sole glued to the outside of the shoe. its just meant to look different, but, like any brand,it isn't the right fit for everyone.

all of these things are available from any dance shoppe
Reply:you can pretty much get everything you need like that from discountdancesupply.com try it! i'm not sure what those ballet shoes are called, except "split sole" sorry i can't help more!! :)
Reply:I think you're talking about Elastosplit X by Bloch

Here's the link for them from discoutdance.com [they also carry a lot of different toe pads including lambs wool:

Reply:1. I think you might be referring to what are called Pedini shoes.

Try searching for "pedini" at discountdance.com

2. You should be able to find those toe pads at any dance supplier.

Try searching discountdance.com for wool, and the fourth listing is for toe pads made of wool or you could buy the wool and wrap your toes first then put on the gel toe pads for extra cushioning.

You might also check out your local library for lots of books and other information about dance and dance supplies! :)
Reply:1. they are called split sole shoes

2. lambs wool pads are sold at any dance store, it is also sold loose, but lambs wool is normally used for pointe shoes
Reply:Ballet shoes that have toes and heels but no sole in the middle are called split-sole shoes. More experienced dancers wear them because they allow you to show off your arch more than full-sole shows. Wherever you get your full-sole shoes, you can probably purchase split-soles there as well.

Sansha flat [not pointe] split-sole shoes have this fuzzy stuff built into them.

Toe pads are purchased separately for your pointe shoes. The only shoes I know of that have some padding built into them are the Bloch Sonatas, and having worn those, they are extremely hard to break in. However, they do support you better, so it's up to you.

Hope this helps :]
