Shoes giving me blisters....any tips?

I don't know if it is the way I walk, or the shoe I am buying, but it seems just about every pair of dress shoes that I buy rub horrible and painful blisters on various parts of my feet. Any tips could be helpful! Thanks

Shoes giving me blisters....any tips?
go to a shoe sotre and be fitted for at least one pari of shoes and then buy them like that in the future. Most of the time blisters are caused by poorly fitted and cheap shoes. Stay away from the discount stores.

If you go to Dillards, Bealls, Macy's etc. stores like those, they should have people who know how to fit you. Most people buy shoes too small.
Reply:try using dr scholls padding on ur feet they are like gelly, they will make ur feet feel like heaven.
Reply:yeah bigger size. 1/2 bigger.
Reply:It is probably due to your gate (the way you walk). It would Be a good idea to see a physical therapist or a doctor that specializes in foot problems (this could be a podiatrist, orthopedist, chiropractor). They will evaluate the way you walk and determine if it is your gate causing the problem or the shoe. You my need a custom made orthotic to go in your shoe. It will help regulate the motion in your foot and help you walk more properly. Expect to pay about $300 for the orthotics and do not go to the "Good Feet" store (high priced, not custom orthotics).
Reply:bigger shoes and/or one of those things that stretches the shoe and preserves the shape of it also.
Reply:You may be buying shoes that are too small or too big. Get professionally fitted.
Reply:better socks

With dress shoes I wear two pair of thin socks. I've been doing that sense I was a kid. And I haven't had a blister sense then. I'm 32 now.
Reply:First of all, some hard questions:

1) Do you have a wide foot that you are squeezing into a B width shoe (standard women's width in the US).

2) Are you trying to wear impossible stiletto heels for extended periods of time?

3) Have you ever gone to an expensive shoe store that knows what it's doing - like Red Wing, and had your feet measured?

4) Are you investing in high quality, soft leather? It's a must.

If you have done all of the above, consult a podiatrist. You may have a problem with your feet that requires medical correction. You may also be sentenced to a life of "sensible shoes"; but don't worry they're coming into vogue. Dansko shoes are endorsed by the American Orthopedic Society.
Reply:You can buy pads to stick on your feet and the back of the shoe to prevent it. Try going to a shoe store that specializes in fitting shoes. You may have to pay more, but you will have less pain.

Also, a podiatrist can help you.
Reply:no one should buy a shoe that they have to break in . a shoe should fit the moment you put it on . you should not get blisters from new shoes.

i suggest that you either go to a real shoe store where they sell some orthotic shoes or you go to see a foot doctor. a podiatrist or cheropodist i havent spelled either one of those right but i am sure you know what i am meaning.

the first thing you need is to have your feet measured correctly.

then you may just need to buy a shoe that is wider or just simply a different size.

the foot doctors are wonderfull and in a very short time they can fix feet . feet like mine that were so painfull i could hardly walk .

its well worth the visit
Reply:the shoes could either be too big or too small. could also be the material they are made of. try putting padding in the areas where blisters pop up.
Reply:this is cheap, easy, and works really well. get some medical tape from any drug or grocery store, and put it on your feet where you know a particular shoe gives you blisters. for new shoes, put where you think they will rub.
