Spikes and starting blocks?

should i actually put the spikes ON the starting block? wouldn't that wear them down? or should i put the back part of the shoe on the block, and leave the spikes on the track?

Spikes and starting blocks?
Place your feet so that the spike plate is on the foot pads of the blocks. Have the tips of your toes touching the ground. This is how they are designed to work. You want to push off with the balls of your feet. If the spikes are on the ground you will not put pressure on the blocks and will be flat footed.
Reply:it wont really matter whether or not you place the spiked ends of the shoes on the block or on the track. usually blacks have a rubber lining on them so you wont wear down your spikes. i would suggest starting with putting the spikes on the blocks. itll give more momentum.
