Help! (Girls responses only please) 'I'm a crossdresser, what do I wear for my first ever job interview?

I've been crossdressing secretly for a number of years, but recently have realised/accepted that this is how I want to start being accepted in public.

I recently submitted my CV for a part-time/weekend job in a shoe shop in London, never expecting to be asked for an interview, but the company is question has asked me to attend one! I want to be open from the start and explain to them that ths is who I want to be. I dont want to attend looking ridiculous like some drag queen, but rather just an understated femme look, so they realise. I'm not confident enough or think its appropriate to wear a skirt and tights (yet), but I'm strugging for an outfit and I was thinking on just smart bootleg trousers, a two-in-one shirt and simple ballet flats, but am undecided? I'm just so nervous and desparately want the job and dont want to make it all about "Oh look I'm a tranny!" What would girls suggest re. an outfit, shoes and what type of make-up? Thanks so much!

How about just dressing in expected customary dress for your gender at the interview and then tell them if it would be acceptable to dress as you want.

Or dress in male clothes and treat it just as a working uniform and not about your dressing preferences that you can do privately and socially.
Reply:Oh how I adore you.

Anyways, go for a natural look. put on some blush but not too much, just enough to give you color. I think that maybe you should wear like a woman's business suit. Oh how cute.

Best wishes.!!
Reply:gray or black or pinstriped dress pants, cute flats, a button down white shirt and a thin sweater that matches your shoes somewhat. mascara, chapstick, well-blended blush, nothing too much. like you said, you don't want to look like a drag queen. brush your teeth, have a mint, and always shake hands firmly to show confidence and respect :) good luck, ive got an interview wed, IM SO NERVOUS! lol
Reply:Interviews for women: coordinating suits. Solid colors. Dark colors. Black or Navy blue are best. Skirts should be below the knee, pants should be at the waist (the REAL waist, not your pelvic bone). Wear a button down shirt under that is simple and understated. white, cream, etc. flats are good, but if you're wearing a skirt, nylons are a must. Make up should be professional and natural looking. Minimum in other words. just foundation, mascara, light eyeliner if you have to (but don't overdo this, it may give you the look that you don't want) and faint blush just to highlight your cheekbones. stay away from any other color on your face including lip color. Good luck!
Reply:haha love the first commmment%26lt;3
Reply:That seems like a good outfit, just make sure that everything is either black and white, or neutral professional colors. makeup wise, curl your eyelashes and add mascara to bring out your eyes, and then add some blush and a pale colored lip gloss. good luck!
Reply:something you sex would wear duh!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:I would dress your gender for work environment and save the crossdressing for your leisure time. If you were to get the job while crossdressing, people would be creeped out when they find out.
Reply:Straight-jacket?
Reply:the second outfit seems nice, like something i would wear
Reply:americans have a term for it-metro. i am all for anyone feeling comfortable in how they dress (evidently i come of as a ferocious lesbian to most people) but one thing is very certain in today's society. we aren't ready for men in skirts and stockings when they still look like men.

i don't want to sound naive, but you are only a cross dresser? doesn't that mean that you get off on secretly dressing as a woman? if you go to a job interview doesn't that kill the secret part?

i have heaps of male friends who are gay that dress femininely and wear make up and they do not come off as trannies. unfortunately there are a lot of places out there that discriminate still. who wants to work for them anyways?

go to the store and find something that makes you feel good and go with it! when i interview i wear a pantsuit and heels. good luck!
Reply:That outfit idea sounds good [: simple.

Try natural and classic makeup and hair.

Good luck, I hope you get the job [:
Reply:i like what you described that you thought about wearing.

good luck!!!!! hope you get the job!!!!!!
