How do I get read of the squeaky sounds from my tennis shoes?

Two days ago, we had a rainstorm in my city. I walked on wet streets and through some small puddles throughout that day. Afterwards, I discovered that one of my tennis shoes made a squeaking sound. Two days later, the shoe still makes that sound.

The sole of my shoe is rubber, and the sound seems to be coming from a rubber part that is within the larger outside rubber part (think of a small circle, representing the squeaky area, within a large oval, representing the entire sole).

Is it as simple as drying it as thoroughly as possible? I thought two days would be plenty of time to dry. Any advice?

Thanks!

There is an article about this on Lifehacker.com I think they said to use baby powder.
Reply:you need to wear them in, kjust keep running in them.
Reply:Put tape on the bottom. If your shoes are wet, however, dry them off.
Reply:I like to annoy people with my squeaky shoes.
Reply:can't call them "sneakers" anymore
Reply:silicon spry is the answer. the some they use to dress plastic parts in cars.you can buy in a car parts store and is also excellent for leader shoes. it make them flexible.
Reply:I have no idea how to fix it, but is it not the most annoying sound in the world? It drives me NUTS!
Reply:never thought of that, mine do that when it rains............
Reply:When anything squeeks aroung the house, I apply a generous amount of oil.

Seriously, put them in front of the frig for a while to dry out.
